Mombasa road stray lion captured by KWS

A stray lion was on Friday 19th March spotted roaming along Mombasa road along Cabanas.
Motorists spotted the roaming and started hooting and shouting to alert the nearby people who could have been caught by the Lion unaware.
The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) managed to capture the roaming lion two and a half hours after it had injured a 63 year old man who was later rushed to hospital.
The Kenya Wildlife Service communication spokesman Mr Paul Udoto said that the 63 year old man injured by the animal was in stable condition after he was rushed at the matter Hospital in the nearby South B estate.

“The lion may have been disturbed by the commotion at a construction site inside the park and made its way out,” said Mr Udoto. “It was provoked by people hooting and taking pictures.”
This is the third time in the same month for such an incident to occur. However the KWS have sent three units to ensure there is no other stray lion on the loose.

Here is a photo that was taken by a motorist before the Lion was captured.
